Went for a short 7 mile ride with Al yesterday around Stone Mtn park. I
was fortunate enough to get to try out his new handlebars.
I was able to mount his Coker after a couple of times. They definitely
interfere with my new rolling mount, but a static mount or a mount were
you grab the tire is easily doable. Like I said, even I was able to
mount it. Getting used to resting your weight on the bars would take a
little time, but I am sure it would make a huge difference on long
rides. Even if you could put 10% of your weight on the bars, it would
help the seat a lot. But I am sure you could put more if you got used
to them. I think the bars could have been about 2 inches wider for me,
and they would be perfect. I am a little wider than Al. 😄
I took some photos and video of Al mounting and riding in the parking
lot with his camera, so if he has time, hopefully he will post those.
