  1. Congratulations, you have shown us that if one consumes more iron then
more will show up in tests. Now what it did not say is that iron causeses
all disease and it is because people eat meat.

    I'll help you:

It causes destruction of a NURSING NEWSGROUP to which hundreds of idiots
crosspost to, and drives nurses away. I am one of probably three or
four that remain . . . and I rarely post anything, unless I can take a
cyber poke at some iron monger.

    Now, do you remember?

Why do you rarely post ?
That makes you part of your problem with this group.

Because the group was for nurses. I am a nurse. There are no nurses
left to post to, only very few. There is nothing of substance to
respond to, so I take to insulting the idiots who have destroyed the
newsgroup, and that includes you, Skanky.

    Welcome to usenet.
Shame it's taken you so long to realise.

Nobody invoked Godwin's Law and called someone else a Nazi?

Well, I can't uncrosspost, because I don't know which newsgroup Manky is
    posting from.
I"ve been referring nurses to your newsgroup. sci.med.nursing
I just checked the archives and see the problems.

The formula for cleaning up a newsgroup:
    1) Create a Charter and define what is and isn't appropriate including
which newsgroups are permitted in crossposts. Some ISPs (and posters) will
take Charters seriously. Others don't, so it's determining who's worth
reporting (and may come back with a different ISP) vs filtering (see
    below).
Some have been successful with "ignore the following poster".
Some sucesses with explaining to certain posters to watch their headers,
    when replying to posts.
    (trimming newsgroups from the replies)

    2) Nurses must stay and continue to post.
Nurses must stay and vote on the Charter.
If it's voted in, announce it by crossposting to the most frequently
    crossposted newsgroups.

    3) Nurses must stay and learn how to filter posters (and/or subject
    lines), using their newsreader software
    <http://www.hyphenologist.co.uk/killfile/killfilefaqhtm.htm>

    4) one or two persons, either by an occasional post or by replying to the
unwanted poster, advise them that they are being filtered by most (many)
    on the newsgroup.

    5) And be persistant about staying and posting and filtering. That's when
one gets called a mazi 😉 but it's a working formula on several newsgroups
that I read. He's abandoned one newsgroup, where the tactic was to make
fun of him. They made a FAQ about him and posted the link to it, every
    time he posted.
Another newsgroup, makes fun of him and the thread drifts into humour.
    Another tactic.

Use them all and I can almost guarantee (persistantly and consistently,
with time), you can revive sci.med.nursing

There's no point in insulting Manky, because he's there to counter
    ironjustice's posts, on other newsgroups.
Same for outsor. Important role. IMO

    I forgot one.
With certain posters, reply, but set "followups" to alt.kooks or their known
    "home" newsgroup.

There is a HUGE point in insulating Manky. Manky crossposts, just like
you do. Same thing for Outsource and Anon.

You gave the Nursing Newsgroup some timely advice on how to revive thier
newsgroup killed by crossposters, then proceeded to crosspost to many
    other newsgroups yourself. Thanks.

Me thinks you don't know what in hell you're talking about. Skanky
Badger has NOTHING to contribute to the nursing newsgroup. Nothing. IT
is not a nurse, does not ask nursing questions of the remaining nurses.
Just continues to try to destroy what's left of the newsgroup. All four
or five of us . . . from what was once a worldwide, dynamic group.

Thanks, you [censored], all of you -- especially Skanky Badger. There is
something about that British Twit that summons my loathing to the
    surface . . .

Instead of complaining, why don't you *follow* the advice which was
given? I.e. filter all most or even all of the crossposts, filter out
    the unwanted posters, etc..

AFAIK, your newsreader, Mozilla Thunderbird, has limited or no
filtering ('killfile'😉 facilities. So why not start using a proper tool,
instead of being/playing the victim? (BTW, you can *add* filtering
capability to any newsreader; keywords "NFilter" and "Hamster".)

Help has already been given. If you need more, then browse/read/
post_to the newsgroup news.software.readers, which is devoted to
    newsreader questions/problems.

I'm posting from mhd, so if you want to reply, leave that in.
