another party sometime in the not-too-distant future and invite everyone
from work except your rude no-shows...

I work in a warehouse with over 900 employees... that could get pretty
expensive <VBG>; especially if it's another no-show brunch/party!! <Snort>

We'll see. I'm planning on taking the high road but won't be totally
surprised if I get a little mud on my feet... I was really crushed
yesterday. I'm just glad it happened (!) yesterday instead of today. A
ruined Sunday would *really* [censored] me off.

You don't have to invite 900 people! (would they fit in your house?! LOL),
just some other folks you like who don't include the rude ones. Make it a
"bring a covered dish" sort of thing 🙂 with personally handed invitations.
Provide some beverages and a dish or two yourself; keep the gathering small.
Maybe like a picnic if you're able (and when it gets cooler!) Word will get
around and the rude ones who weren't invited may start to wonder...

Make it purely a social gathering, too. I know the AHA is important to you
for all the right reasons, but in this case of payback, just social.

Yeah... I'll play it by ear... I'm just disappointed (now - I've already
gone through a range of various other emotions! LOL).

On a brighter note, a co-worker (that I didn't invite) just called to check
on how my weekend went. I explained what happened and he said he didn't
know if he could help (the AHA) but would speak with some friends to either
get involved or at least to donate funds. He further said that he didn't
know that I was involved with them and that he was very familiar with what
they do and why... anyway, color me surprised. Whether he does or
doesn't - we'll see but after yesterday, it's an encouraging end to an
otherwise crappy weekend.
