I have all the software I need to make my computer a very useful item to me.
Who needs hundreds of programs when a few dozen _quality_ ones will do?

Seriously, have you ever used Windows XP? Seems like you're still getting over Windows 95. XP is solid. The apps will sometime crash but the OS crashing or hanging is a RARE event - and then usually down to a crappy 3rd party hardware driver.
MACs are beautiful bits of kit, but you sure do pay a premium (in terms of money and convenience in the availabilty of apps) for them.

I just have to chime in on this one. XP is awsome! I have gone through the Windoze maze back to the first windoze, and they SUCKED! Constant problems, constant crashes requiring a pro to fix, until... TAA DAA. Get any of the processors designed specifically for winXP, and you get a machine you can rely on. I'm going on 4 years now with only ONE crash that I easily fixed myself. That is compared to YEARS of monthly to bi-monthly crashes before. There's never been a better combo in the PC business, and makes Macs look like turtles.

Even Windows 2000 is extremely stable. Nearly every machine I maintain at work is a Win2K machine and they are all extremely stable. You do need to keep up with the updates though to avoid maliciousness.

I've been back playing Counter-Strike 1.5. I had Girlpower in my favorites and finally deleted it yesterday in fact. It's obviously been down for awhile. -- -Larry

They shut down in June or July...permanently. Cheryl Peril started up a new "girlpower" server but it has all kinds of gimmicky [censored] in it so I rarely play there.
