1.) Spandex, this should come with a license and anual check to make
sure that your license does not need to be revoked. (BTW, I include
"stretch pants" in this categroy). I shouldn't wear spandex, I know I
shouldn't wear spandex, I DON'T wear spandex. How hard is that?
2.) Waiting for equipment. I.E. a squat rack. I go to the gym at a
certain time becuase of the usual number of people in there. I have my
routine down pretty well. It just throws a big wrench in things when a
couple of times a month some guy you have never seen before and will
never see again comes in and starts using the equipment that you were
about three minutes from switching to.
3.) The "Frat boy" lifting groups. We have one at my gym that is
actually all from the local sheriff's department. They all have [censored]
attitudes, and [censored] form. But they also have that wolf pack mentality.
They just drag the feeling of the gym down somehow. Don't they have
drunk drivers to go hassle somewhere?
4.) Having the battery in my MP3 player die! I really need to get a
package to leave in the damn car. I don't take money with me, so buying
one from the counter isn't an option and I like to have control over
what I am hearing during which part of my workout.
5.) The PT's. There is quite a few things about them that irritate me.
a.) The way they do everything in a speed walk.
b.) The way all of there exercises either include a Pillate's ball or
pellican stance.
c.) The way they think that "machines can not be reserved" does not
apply to them or their clients when they are working with them.
d.) The way they always expect the right of way when crossing the gym.
6.) People who do things like pyramid squats by 25lb incriments from the
bar weight up to their working weight so that they have just about every
25lb plate in use. They then unrack them all there, by the squat rack.
(This is the only one I have ever complained about)
Leaving plates racked doesn't really bother me as I just figure it to be
extra work in my day. (Bonus) And I always have time between exercises
to change the weight if it isn't right.
The folks that are there when I am seem to be VERY good about wiping
down equipment when finished.
It is rare that there are singles seeking singles in this gym when I am
there, so this isn't an issue for me. But I can see how it could annoy
me if it was going on and in my way for equipment/mirrors for form check.
