OTOH, [snip url only accessible from belgian ip]
"Cloudy with clearances"
"Most of the time dry, sometimes a few snowflakes."
I posted before noon. They updated the forecast on the KMI site, now
it's back to: "2 deg, wind NE 2, variable cloudiness, dry or risk of
snow showers."

Don't let the forecast fool you - It's beautiful weather out there! I
haven't missed a day riding since I got here over a week ago, and it's been
a lot worse than is predicted for Saturday. Yesterday there was a nice thin
layer of snow on the Schelde bike path which added to the novelty. It wasn't
really slippery, given that there are no corners :-) But on the main roads,
and even on the cobbles it was merely wet (with snow on either side).
Admittedly, I wouldn't like to race in it but I don't get paid to do so.
I think the conditions are a lot more rideable this year than last, when we
had some heavy snowfalls in the days leading up to OHV. Snow is falling
every day, but it's wimpy snow and doesn't last long in these searingly hot
conditions. Today we even had some really light rain (ah, luxury) and for
some reason it felt warmer, even though it was only 1 degree. Maybe I'm
getting used to it.
On the other hand, anyone who hasn't acclimatised will suffer. De Jongh is
good in the cold.
