I tried it once, but the quality was about what I would expect
from a grocery store frozen pizza, so why bother?

you could go and breath oxygen out of a tank. They supposedly added

The current, inexplicable, trendy place in town is a hooka bar
and cafe. Go hang out where people are smoking hookas and

Sad as it may seem.... someone is buying or else they wouldn't be in

This doesn't seem nearly as sad to me as the business described in the
original entree vous thread. I could be a customer if there were such
a raw pizza place near me.

I don't want to make my own because making dough is not something I'm
good at.

I don't order a cooked one for delivery because they are always steamed
soft by the time they get here, whereas I like crispy thin crust.

I won't buy a frozen thing because I've tried all the brands available
and don't like any of them.

So as it stands, pizza is something I go out for (to Casa Bianca, if
there are any Eagle Rock lurkers out there). If they would make the
dough and give me my choice of toppings and let me cook it at home I
definitely would try it. -aem

Heck, we have several take and bake pizza businesses in Oregon. Great pizza, too.

Pick up the phone and order it when leaving work, movies, sports game, etc. and it's ready
when you get there. Take it home, cook it and 15 minutes later - just about the time to
change clothes, pet the dog, grab a soda (or whatever drink you prefer) and viola, it's
dinner time.

Much cheaper than the cooked chain pizzas from: Pizza Hut, Dominos, Little Ceasar's,
Godfathers, etc. Much tastier than the chain ready cook pizzas, too.

Last time I got a pizza from Round Table it was US$25.00. That's a lot
of money for a pizza.

$3 from the local pizza parlor. Even cheaper frozen, at lots of
supermarkets (and you could probably substitute bread dough). It's
pretty easy to stretch it out -- forget tossing it in the air -- and
press into a pan. And the rest is actually fun! Ladle on some tasty
jarred spaghetti sauce, FRESH grated mozzarella (half a pound is more
than enough), and whatever's in the fridge. I always have mushrooms,
peppers, calamata olives, and grated parmesan on hand.

Seriously, it's not only *better* than the local pizzeria, it's about
half the price. (I cook it for 12 minutes at 500 degrees on the bottom
rack of the oven.)

Some pizzerias will give you a "half-cooked" pizza to finish in the
oven at home. It's great, nicer than either frozen or warmed-over
takeout/delivery.

Since that marketing gimmick comment was mine I'll say yes,
I have tried one, which I mentioned in my earlier post.
The one I tried was about on par with frozen grocery store pizzas.
Not horrible, but nothing special. I wish it had been good, I
kind of like the concept, but if it's no better than a DiGiorno
or Freschetta or whatever why bother?

Not here - they only offer 1 size, 18 inch, and it's $16.95. I could
get cheapy chain pizza for $9.99 easily. For $16.95, I can get my
favorite 'gourmet' pizzas delivered - $15.95 for the eggplant parm
pizza, and $16.95 for white with spinach, tomato, and artichokes. And
that, they bring to me. If it's not hot enough, I heat it on a pizza
stone in the oven. Much easier, and same price.

There were two different pizza take 'n bake chain stores here. One went bust
pretty quickly, the other has been here for at least 6-7 years. I've been
meaning to give them another try one of these days since they've just added
a super-thin crust to their offerings.

I suppose the take 'n bake places would be popular with people who want to
add extras to the pizza that the local joints might not have, or for people
who want to rearrange a pizza to satisfy picky people in the house. Or if
the local places that will deliver to you aren't that good.

It might also be convenient if you want to pick up the pizza a little early
and pop it in the oven and have it ready in 15 minutes when you decide it's
time. Around here, there's only one place I'd order pizza from, and it's
normally 45 minutes to an hour for delivery.
