"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and
more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day
the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the
White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
H.L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)
"Anyone with degrees from Yale and Harvard is presumed to be intelligent,
but George W. Bush has managed to overcome that presumption."
Well, the President is Republican and the Congress is Republican
controlled. All those poor folks who were left to die were mostly
Democrats. Did some damned Republicans decide to kill Democrats on
purpose? It seems that the Republican controlled government wasn't in
any kind of a hurry to save those Democrats, who would probably be
voting against them in the next election. Dead folks don't vote. The
recovery delay tactics were probably just an easy way for the
Republicans to eliminate 50,000 Democrats from voting in the next
election. It is a sad and pathetic thing, but then the Democrat
politicians are no better. Maybe it is time we found a new political
party that is dedicated to helping the ordinary average American, and
let the Republicans and Democrats go to the devil? Just think, if a guy
like Ross Perot was President, he would have been out there in hip boots
pulling folks out of the sewage with his bare hands.
