Except its quoting dosn't work. It's hard to tell your pearls of
wisdom from the ones you're responding to.Tim

Fine if you are prepared to read on-line and with a time delay. I never
see the attractions of google groups and forums (fora?) over a
newsreader. You spend all your time clicking to go to the next message
and back rather than scrolling through them. YMMVTony

it does if you select reply from the options rather than after the
message. There is virtually no time delay in beta now; it works fine if you just
drop in every so often. Plus my work newsreader won't support a
newsserver so that only works at home. Each to his own. I also like
seeing the whole thread which OE/n.i.n. doesn't do, you have to open
each individual message one at a time. -

The old google groups was better in this respect as it denoted each new
post to the thread in a different colour. But for speed beta gets my
vote. -

It quotes ok if you click on the "show options" button and then
use the "reply" option that appears. As I am demonstrating with this post...
Alternatively click the "preview" button before typing anything, then
the "edit" button as I am demonstrating with this one. You still have
to remove the blank line at the top, which can have no function other
than to encourage top posting, and re-trim the quoted line lengths
though. :-(--
