I don't recall denigrating or demeaning the accomplishments of Lance
    Armstrong. What I said was:

Fact: Lance Armstrong is a strong supporter of the Bush administration
Fact: The Bush administration is responsible for murder, mayhem, and
    national bankruptcy.
Fact: This makes Armstrong a defacto supporter of the policies of the Bush
    administration; consequently
Fact: I personally find it morally questionable to support him.

By supporting Bush, Armstrong lends credence to an administration that is
creating extremely serious problems (455 billion dollar deficit this year
alone, anyone? 700,000 million seriously [censored] Muslims?) that we're
going to be dealing with for years, if not decades to come. So, far be it
from me to cast a shadow on Lance's accomplishments; I'm just not going to
throw a party for the MF.

Oh I don't know... anyone who puts Munkres' Topology book on a list of his
or her favorite books is okay in my, uhhh, book.

I believe he recently said he was center-left, not in agreement with the
war, among other things. He's a friend of Bush, but that's about it.
All the other *facts* built upon this are a human pyramid of straw men.

Actually, he's trying very hard to stay out of politics this year.

You'll have to do better than that if you want to call this a "fact."

There was a giant smoking hole in the south end of Manhattan that was planned by
[censored] Muslims long before Bush showed up

And yes, we will be dealing with them for years. Because if we aren't dealing
with them, they'll be dealing with us. Read Bin Laden's fatwa of 1996 if you've
got any delusions that this conflict is negotiable.

I don't think he was planning to attend.

Wrong. Get your facts straight and try again. If you're intellectually
honest, you'll have to change your conclusion when your premises (1 nd 3 )
    change.
