Bar end streamers = anti-theft device

In terms of theft deterrant, has same efect as child seat on rear only less weight and possible more aerodynamic.

it doesn't have bolt holes for racks.

I use a Vaude handlebar bag with the Klickfix mount, and can strongly
recommend them for security. Have taken the bag along all sort of rough
tracks with camera and assorted bits in it - it all travels very securely.
The bag sometimes gets up a good bounce but the mount is rock solid. If the
rear seat mount is anything like the handlebar one I'd say it would easily
handle 10 kgs, maybe more if your staying on smooth roads.

A lot of the Klickfix gear _was_ available from Wallingford Bike Parts
www.wallbike.com , but hey have apparently dropped the range due to
difficulties sourcing them with no U.S distributor. You could email them to
check on any items.

Just recently I bought the handlebar bag from Discount Camping in Sth
Australia:

They have the Vaude panniers and the Road II handlebar bag, at a good price.

Aside from these I don't know of any places. But try some of theGerman
contacts. You can use one of the translation sites (Systran, Babelfish ?) to
help. I recently bought a full set of Ortlieb panniers from a German outdoor
site www.unterwegs.biz and they were really very good. Big cost saving on
buying them in Aus too.
