I think Amanda should chose how we judge it - but we will probably have
a small panel that will mark on a number of criteria. When we have
identified the top five vids then we could re-watch and re-mark them -
does anybody have a clap-ometer (spelling?) that we could borrow.

I have made the 'awards' and suggest that we award 1'st, 2'nd and 3'rd
with 2 awards for each place (one for the editor and one for the rider)
- I will make up any necessary additional awards (e.g. if there are two
or more riders etc...) and will forward them after the convention.

Sorry - probably not the correct place to post this but... we have a
bit of a hiccup on the unicycle hockey goal situation - is anyone able
to bring some goals to the convention with them - you will be rewarded
with beer.

EMU's have our custom made (by 'LED freak'😉 goals that Roland may be
persuaded to bring if necessary. What's the problem anyway?

whoa there unicus!

those goals are ok for us legendey emu players, with our vast
experience and stealth attack modes, but they are very bendy and flimsy
for the little 'uns and clumsy 'uns who like the occasional lean on the
goal...

i'm sure roland would bring them, but finding alternative goal sources
would be prudent

They are a bit on the bendy side but I had visions of the BUC hockey
tournament with jumpers for goalposts. :eek:

Hopefully someone with some sturdy metal goals will offer to bring
theirs.

Please don't panic; we will sort something out. Basically Steve G. is
unable to bring his goals - I am checking with the school to see if
they have something in the correct size. I would not like to borrow

I am planning to be at the unimeet on Sat 29th so I could pick Steve
G’s goals up in my van (I’ll have the room) then and bring them up to
Scarborough for BUC with me. Is the problem because he’ll be bringing
his caravan? I’ll talk to Steve G on Saturday about it.

Ok, A new graphics card is on the way, my new digital video cam is
standing by. Me and Leo will try to slap something together for BUC. We
won,t be able to do our original idea, so it will be just a riding vid
i would think. Fingers crossed, if i get the graphics card before the
bank holiday we can start capturing the footage, and editing it.

Disaster! Me and leo have shot all the footage we need, but iv put it
into Editstudio and the finished video won't render! I have been trying
to render it as MPEG at 30 frames/sec at 1280x960 and it will start
to render but then i get the blue screen of death after about 30
seconds. If i try to render it as a lower resolution and as AVI at 25
frames/sec, it gets almost to the end before blue-screening. Anyone
else use editstudio? Anyone know what could be the matter? Otherwise i
don't know if i will get it done! HELP!

You should render at a maximum of 640x480, that should work ok.
1280x960 will end up with a video of incredibly huge file size, and you
should only render at the resolution you have shot the footage at (most
likely 640x480 or 320x240).

what loosemoose said, tv is only 640 x 480 anyway, so you gain nothing
by rendering at higher quality, at least for viewing on a tv anyway.
