another 'merkin trying to make sense out of "Bouygues." I thought I
heard "boo-GAY" in there at least once, but Bob made fewer variations on
that theme than Paul did on Cancellara's name.

"Bouygues Telecom," after a few cockeyed stares I read it as "buih
zhuay." I'd be surprised if that was incorrect.

Pays-Bas but the French TV commercials for Bouygues Telecom pronounce it
in one syllable.

It's not, the dash was just to separate the 2 sounds. This is close to
how it was pronounced on Belgian (Flemish, not Walloon) tv. You
suggesting it's more like Boogue? (as in the topic...).
