Not so fast. I suppose you think you're clever, but a "good" is merely
an adjective that qualifies the noun troll to express a particular
attribute about a troll. Even a grade shool kid knows that. I thought
you were once a librarian??? There is absolutely nothing implicit in
the definition of a troll that can possibly be misconstrued as good.
GOOD TROLL is an oxymoron ... moron!!!

Ed, let me step in here and help you out with a description of what an
internet troll is. There is nothing implicit in the definition of a
troll that can possibly be misconstrued as good. GOOD TROLL is an
oxymoron. The American Psychiatric Association even considers the
internet troll personality to be a mental disorder. An Internet troll
delights in upsetting people. They post inflammatory, rude, offensive
messages specifically crafted to annoy, antagonize or disrupt the flow
of discussion. Trolls send attention-seeking, disruptive, provacative,
messages hoping to entice and lure other users into angry or fruitless
responses. Trolls are impervious to criticism. You cannot negotiate
with a troll. You cannot cause a troll to feel shame or compassion.
Trolls cannot be made to feel remorse. Trolls do not feel they are
bound by the rules of courtesy or social responsibility. When you try
to reason with a troll, they win. When you insult a troll, they win.
The only thing that trolls can't handle is being ignored an this is
just what you properly deserves. In the greater scheme of things, you
are errelevant. The truth hurts doesn't it???

Nope, wrong on all counts. I troll is non-responsive and simply blathers
    his
nonsense over and over and ignores everyone and everything. I am
    responsive
to every message. Therefore, I am not a troll. Jeez, even a dunce like
    Jim
    McNamara ought to understand that!

Responsiveness has nothing to do with what delineates a troll. You're
merely a responsive troll, but a troll nonetheless. You waffle more
than a politician. You claim to be a troll, but a good troll and then
you claim not to be a troll at all. What became of the Ed Dolan who

outrageous it might first appear" and which statement do you chose to
defend since event the gread Ed Dolan you can't possibly stand by them

Diversion duly noted. As ususal, you are unable to mount a defense.
Ed Gin has absolutely nothing to do with this. I need only compare you
to the definiotn of a troll and quote what you have said of yourself to
make my point. I was remiss in thanking you for you assitance in that
    regard.

Here are just but a few characteristics of the troll that you
    exemplify...

    off topic messages (most everything)
cross posting (a tool often employed)
racist, sexist, classist comments (too many examples to even cite)
messages expressing unsubstantiated opinions as though facts requiring
to proof or evidence (common practice)
messages containing a self-referential appeal to status (recent wine vs
    beer commentary comes to mind)
politically contentious messages (attack on liberals come to mind)
adamantly attacking another's point of view and generally affixing a
    label (frequently employed tactic)
attempt to make one's personality the center of every discussion (ARBR,
Usenet, the universe ... his "GREATNESS" knows no limits)
deriving pleasure from frustration, anger and pain (assumed)
Self-proclaimed trolls suggest that trolling is a way of improving
discussion ("housekeeping" rhetoric comes to mind)
trolls enjoy the idea that they can waste others' time at comparatively
little effort on their behalf (cut and paste boilerplate is an
    indication of this)
self-promotion (no comment should even be necessary)
feigning to be a misunderstood humorist (commonplace)

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...
