How about it? I know it stimulates insulin. Makes me want
to eat the doors off the cupboard, even just 500mg.

Why would a non-essential amino acid 'stimulate insulin'?
Nothing mentioned about this phenomenon here: http://tinyurl.com/czd9s

Does the Lysine or Ornithine that is sometimes combined
with arginine counter this? Is there something?

Use the website link above to look up more info on these amino acids
and it will tell you why some are combined for whatever reason.

Nor will you find mention of it when you watch Sesame Street, joni.
However, it you search abstracts in Medline or PubMed, you will find
many, many references to l-arginine, as a precursor of nitric oxide,
    increasing insulin release.

Sometimes, Googling pop fitness sites just isn't good enough.

Actually I didnt find 'many many' articles on this topic at your
    intellectually snobby website ...

"Intellectually snobby website"? Take another looksee at that URL you
cited. See all those little references thingies at the bottom, with
the funny names and big words you don't understand? Wanna guess where
    those came from, princess?

Yes, references or footnotes to substantiate the info given in an
article is usually a sign of a quality website which doesnt have to
bore you with studies that more than half the population cant
understand or be bothered reading unless you're the nerdy pocket
protector type. The intellectual snobbism in this newsgroup is
    profound.

Btw, thats 'Queen' to you, as I am probably older than you and own more
of the kingdom than you do.

So, you wanted me to repeat John's correct information?
You need to have the potential connection between insulin
increase and appetite explained to you? Does repetition
convince you? It wouldn't appear so.

John didnt say anything 'correct' as in answering the OP's queston, he
was was responding to my post. Dont be so damn snotty. Maybe repetion
will enhance your reading skills: 'Does the Lysine or Ornithine that
is sometimes combined with Arginine counter this? Is there something?'
Quick before he eats the cupboards, show me where this was answered by
    either you or John.

Your being wrong on so many different topics so many times has
been repeated to you over and over, and, still, you seem to take
pride in such ignorance. Ignorance is not a character flaw, and
can be eliminated by education. Pride in ignorance is one of the
    worst personality traits imaginable.

You should know because you are truely ignorant on so many different
    levels.
You deem me 'wrong' on every post I make, trolling after me in every
attempt to belittle me, like as if you are mr know-it-all. Whatever. Do
what you have to do to increase your testosterone, you'll still have
the smallest pecker in this newsgroup.

Good morning, Your Majesty. <g> Not sure the snottiness will abate, but
I'm happy to offer a hug as a possible counter to some of the trolling
    you perceive.

Joanne, I don't have any PhD handy to back up my anecdotal ramblings,
but while working for GNC, I tried Arginine and Ornithine
supplementation with gusto courtesy of my employee discount. I didn't
notice any increased or crazy hunger, but that's probably because I was
already force-feeding in an attempt to gain weight.

Oh, this just arrived from Sesame Street:

Yes, we actually attempt to stick to reality. Shocking I know. People
like you are why MLM companies exist at all.

Oy! You don't know the half of it. Every time the nursing supervisor calls
me and starts to say "they have a [13-18] year old for you in Trauma
Resuscitation..." I immediately think, "what goddamm stupid thing did this
teenager do now?", and I am rarely surprised 🙁

The current stupid teenage fad around here is car-surfing...standing on a
moving vehicle. I think they must have seen all the coverage of the Terry
Schiavo debacle, and thought, "gee, that looks like a fun way to exist".
