I've been a user of Wikipedia for a long time and am quite interested in
your idea. The new Wikitravel site provides an idea of how something could
be developed that looked a lot better than the encyclopaedia.
I'm sure I would use it not least because I often find myself creating my
own routes. For example, I've been doing some low level walks recently due
to a fall in Snowdonia when I tore ligaments and tendons in one of my
elbows. As a result I've been creating some walks in the Cotswolds. These
tend to be longer than you often find in guides - say 15 miles - but they
are well within the reach of most walkers. My walking companions keep
suggesting that we write these walks up - your idea would be ideal for this.
Am happy to be involved. Sounds a good idea to me.
