Life is fraught with dangers! This sort of thing could happen anywhere.
A good friend of mine was beaten sensless in Bruselles by some wackos
while he was locking his bike. I've ridden across the deserts of Nevada
alone on fire roads and met some strange characters who would have
scared me under normal circumstances, but were actually great folks
looking to help.

Just ride. But maybe take some pepper spray for dogs and crazies if it
makes you feel better.

If you saw "Hoboken Hollow" you might think twice too. Or for Europeans
"Hostel" Both had to do with outsiders in the country.
