While in Pittsburg a few months ago I wanted to stop by and see if they had any Optima's, wasn't
able to get the time to go and during the winter they are by appointment only

  3. As a matter of fact I have. It's a very nice shop, a very good selection of rides, and a shop owner
that rides and understands recumbents. A buddy and I made the trip two Saturdays ago, a round trip
for me of about 300 miles (we've had a long winter and cabin fever was high). I've wanted to get
down there for sometime and I was not dissappointed. It is a somewhat small shop but just chock full
of recumbents, no uprights. I believe he had at least one of every manufacuter he carries on the
floor and said there were as many more that were not there. We were Tire Kicking, but in between
customers, and it was a steady flow, we had a nice chat with Rob who is very enthusiastic about his
products. The test ride policy is liberal, be sure to bring a helmet. If you are any where near
State College, Pa be sure to make a pilgrimage. I'll be back in May for the Rally Denny in Sayre, Pa

I purchased a Rans Velocity Squared from RBR last summer and also traded in my Tailwind at RBR. I
found the owner (Rob) to be helpful and interested in helping me to get what I wanted. I have no
    qualms about recommending RBR. Bob

From the pictures it looks to be an impressive shop. One of the things I notice is that the majority
of shops carrying recumbents end up being holes in the wall and don't carry squat. I still hope to
visit RBR in the near future.

I have not purchased from them but I have had a similar experience to

Bob's. I emailed them about a couple of bikes I was interested in and they promptly responded with
information. They even made a suggestion on a used bike they had just received which was an
intelligent alternative to my search. I did not get the impression this was some "minimalist"
operation or run by someone who knew little about the product. To the contrary, I have a very good
impression about their knowledge of recumbents. It was mentioned that they stage a rally each year
which might be an opportune time to check them out.

  7. I bought two bents from Rob before he even had his store. He was working out of his garage in
Pennsylvania Furnace, PA. I found him to be honest, flexible and helpful. I believe my endorsement
is still being used on their site. I sent him deposits from Cleveland, OH with no qualms. He even
let me compose the contract...I bought a Bikee RX and E2 from him. At the time, he was mystified by
the "reversed" front fork on the E2 but, I'll bet now that he has experience, his mechanical work is
flawless. Is RBR still throwing in the storm whistle upon delivery?

    BentJay GS GTO Bikee E2

PS Reaching State College from the west is interesting because of the mountains. Email me for my
    route through Phillipsburg from I-80.

  8. I went and met Rob at RBR, and I'm very happy I did. I rode an Oprima Baron, a Bacchetta Strada, a
Lightning Phantom, a Lightfoot Ranger, a Burley HepCat, and even a Greenspeed and a Catrike. Damn,
it was fun!! I ended up buying a Bacchetta Giro. Rob had some Shimano Capreo cassettes and hubs.
sp?!? The cassette's smallest cogs are 9, 10, and 11, up to 32. He had one on a Challenege
Hurricane, so the gear range was more like having a 26" rear wheel gear range. Lots of fun toys and
I learned a lot. I'm definately coming back for the rally. Tim

🙂 Added a Tailwind from RBR to our fleet last Nov. and the purchase experence was marvelous, Rob is fantastic to deal with.
He even obliged me with test rides on three trikes knowing that (at that time) I was in no immediate market for one, what a great time that was. As mentioned in earlier posts there is a great variety of recumbents to check out. It's well worth your time to visit the shop.

A great store and a nice guy. I spent the better part of a day there last spring trying to get
an idea on what I liked. I pretty much road his entire inventory. I hope to get there in May for
    the rally.
