Krispy Kremes are an affectation. rbr really lives on bagels. I've got
no class, 'cause I like the big chewy ones they sell in bookstores in
the U.S. The pros like those small dense suckers they sell up in New
York. And there's some Canadian group, but I can't believe they really
    eat bagels in Canada.

Yeah, after New Years it's back to the rice, chicken breast, cold water fish,
kidney beans, bagels, fruits and veggies diet.
Sad thing is I can still finish last on beer, pizza and wings, while enjoying
it more, but right now I wouldn't even finish.

I have found it impossable to find good bagels outside New York and Philly.
Krispy Kremes, OTOH, are excellent everywhere.

If you are ever in Cincinnati, try Marx's Hot Bagels in Blue Ash.

If I am ever in Cincinnati....well, I can't think of a polite way to finish
that sentence. Any city noted for putting pasta in it's chili is to be
    avoided at all costs.

When you come up to BC Tim I'll set you up with some bagels from the local
    bakery. You'll be surprised.

OMG ... I'll grant you that Cincy chili and SW chili are as different as
night and day, but I dearly love BOTH! There's a little chili join down
from my mom's house in Cincy and that chili, served "all the way" over those
big, plump noodles ... oh, where are my keys? It's only an 11 hour drive.

Shommer Shabbos? Or is it one of those Methodist Bagel joints?

    Bob,
You're in denial. That's not chili, that Hungarian Goulash.

  11. I take it you have never actually tried a bowl of Gold Star or Skyline
chile with a bottle of Hudepohl (sp?).

Dutch actually. The baker is actually an international pastry chef who
covers the bagels in a sheet then farts under the covers to give them that
extra something. There's probably an exhaust connection in there somewhere,
like soft pretzels from West Passyunk on the way to the Wachovia Center.
    Nothing quite like it.

  13. Natural Oven onion bagels are delicious and healty. I pop then in the
toaster and put peanut butter on them.

My wife, who grew up in Cincinnatti has told me about their chili--but
she's made chili for me and there was no pasta--what else has she been
    lying about?

I started eating on Xmas day morning at my partner's mother's house for
breakfast, then on to her aunt's for lunch, then her dad's for dinner
before coming back here for a barbeque.

Boxing Day I did a 120km ride and overall I've lost 5kg. *shrug*

I believe that was when the SEC probe into some of KK's accounting
    practices began. Further info below:
