  1. Rasmussen doesn't need to dope, he's found another way to rig the game in
his favor. He has decided that if he could make himself into a skeleton,
then he will fly up the mountain. "The others, they eat, don't they know
the way up the mountain is by not eating."

  2. That thought crossed my mind when I saw him yesterday. My goodness he is
a rail.I wonder how he became a mountain specialist being from Denmark?

  3. Glad I'm not the only one noticing that. When I first saw him raising
his hands in victory, his body reminded me of those old WWII films of
the Allies liberating the prisoners at Dachau.

The weird thing is that he mixes these incredible stage long solo
breakaways on climbing stages with other moutain stages in which he
can't hang with the lead group, all in the same tour years.
Apparently he gets some kind of extreme motivation from riding solo
    breakaways.

I was amused to discover that Rasmussen's real nickname is 'The
Chicken'. My wife and I called him 'Chicken Boy' every time we
saw him in last year's Tour. And here we thought we were being
    original.

Children's show in Denmark "Bear and Chicken." Story goes he was buds with a
large mechanic nicknamed "Bear." The rest is pretty obvious.

I still like "the Stick Insect" better.

They should offer Magnus Backstedt a contract. I bet they'd make a
    great pair.

is he the skinniest guy or what... with that beanshave and sunken
cheeks, he's like something from auschwitz! Or one of those bald aliens
    from star trek.

  11. He has really buffed looking arms, for a toothpick figure.

Well, today he bagged the polka dot and won his grande alpe stage, the
way he thinks is most beutilfull way. He is reasonably pleased, but he
still think that he should have been alowed to go for the victory on
    L'Alpe d'Huez.

It was amazing to watch how strong and smooth he was pedalling, looking
perfectly fresh until he was close to the line and all but collapsed.

Even Landis was pedaling smoothly as Axel towed him over
the line. Probable the pitch in the final kilometers has
    something to do with it.

As my 74 year old dad was losing his fight with cancer last year he had enough
of a sense of humor to be amused that Rasmussen was the same height and weight,
but had less hair and was generally not as good looking.
