Yesterday I was riding in Denver in 80+ F weather with a sleeveless jersey and some gusty winds to about 50 mph. But, it was still a great ride.
On my return I saw the billowing smoke from the Jamestown Fire (reported 6 homes burned) and then the fire just a bit west of my home in Parker - 12,000 folks evacuated.
Today, I am in Estes Park where the high was 20 F. High in Denver about 28 F, I would guess.

Salt Lake had 70 degrees at about 10 AM. As of noon, it was rain mixed with snow, which continued for six hours (and continues in Provo, 40 miles south).

That's actually 2 different days. The biggest change I ever saw in 1 day was in St. Louis several years ago. When I started riding in the late morning, the temp was around 70F. By late afternoon, it was 30F and snowing. The midwest is lots of fun.

That must have been the year I was in college in Rolla in the early 80's. Started out just like that, close to 80 in the morning, and I was going around barefoot with no shirt. By 10:00 that night we had about 8" of snow on the ground.

That's actually 2 different days. The biggest change I ever saw in 1 day was in St. Louis several years ago. When I started riding in the late morning, the temp was around 70F. By late afternoon, it was 30F and snowing. The midwest is lots of fun.
Unfortunately, the data between 12:53 (72F) and 18:53 (30F) is missing for all of the Front Range airports I checked, or else you'd see that warm & sunny turned to cold & snowing within 1-2 hours. I was at a race at Meridian Office Park that day -- as I recall, they shortened the last race of the day because of how fast the storm moved in.

We got a new interstate spur a few years ago, and the mile-long access bridges (long story, political payback) cracked within a year. Apparently the architects, near the Gulf at the other end of the state, couldn't believe the weather could vary 50 degrees in one day, and so they didn't design the bridges for such severe weather conditions. Sounds like normal weather for north Alabama...
