  1. I wish Sherwin would get the "George" thing down. It's like Liggett and his
"Kevin Livingstone" problem a few years ago.

  2. I really think its time for Sherwin to stop telling us what a great one day
racer George is; at least until he wins a few full fledged classics. He's a
strong, super-domestic who does an excellent job for his team leader which
isn't what Sherwin touts him as.

He sure earned his salary today. Hincapie, I mean.

I think that at least a part of that is this is being done for US broadcast.
The US has really lost most of the respect for people who do a solid days work
at a tough job, they get ripped for not being #1 and it really doesn't seem to
matter how you get to #1 either.
This goes with the "First Loser" attitude. It's not about skill, dedication,
and craftsmanship here anymore. It's about quick fix, get rich quick, flashy
    [censored].
I agree with you that George has been Lance's best and most loyal domestique
and I think that without him a few of those victories would've been a lot
    closer, or even have happened.
It's like trying to find a star running back in the NFL that will actually
block someone too. One of the things that made Walter Payton, and Emmit Smith
so great was that they both would do whatever the team needed to win and took
pride in doing the tough, dirty work well, not just the glamour [censored].

By any chance do any of you remember Phil telling us what a great one day
racer that unknown guy Davide Rebellin was prior to 2004? But all of you
    knew better.

    He's saying "Georgie," not Georgia.

But Rebellin had actually *won* several 1.WC and 2.HC races
before 2004. Hincapie has not come close to Rebellin's
    palmarés.

I wish they'd both STFU about David Millar. Everytime that guy comes up
out of the saddle they're immediately going "David Millar's
attacked...he's already got 4 feet on the bunch!"

Except for that big share in five consecutive TdF victories. Note they've kept
him around for the attempt on #6. --Tom Paterson, tireless or should I say

Me too. Which is why I'd love to see him get in a break that sticks to the
end of one of these long flat stages and have him in yellow for a few days.
A little payback from Postal for all his hard work in the past and present.
It would be a risky not having him around LA, but it world be cool.

Last time I failed to post this link at an appropriate juncture, some people
were quite disappointed. Legate, were you one of them?

I wasn't one of them, but I am a little disappointed that Lance isn't giving
his handjob hand sign in this photo.
