Just a data point, but no matter what you wear, you're going to get wet in
varying degrees if you are on the bike for more than 30 min, imo. The
ability of gortex is simply overwhelmed at a point well below the venting
of perspiration versus the pressure of the rain, iirc.

Generous vents, storm flap with vent, two-way zipper, adjustable cuffs
(tight or loose with easy velcor straps). Those are the kinds of things
that I'd look for.

You want to wear Castelli's Teseo jacket. You need something
clear so your team kit will show through.

Don't ever wear those silly jackets that are cut really long on the
back and are purple or yellow, they make riders look like dorks.

The less reflective [censored] on the jacket the better it is.

20 bux or so, IIRC. They kinda look like those foldable
plastic raincoats moms used to carry in their purses.

Bum flaps are redundant anyways, and too often get hooked
on the back of the saddle.

_ Are you wearing them when it's not raining? If so a soft shell
style of jacket will work much better in everything but a total
downpour. In my experience when it's raining and you're active
you have only two choices

1. Be wet and uncomfortable.

2. Be wet and relativeley comfortable.

_ You have to figure out what works best for you. Some people
swear by goretex and some people swear at it. Give up on being
dry and work on being comfortable.
