  1. My current weight: 163.6 lbs
Weight change since my last recorded weight: -1.4 lbs
Total weight change to date: -68.4 lbs

Alrighty then! I'm closing in on my next mini-goal of 70 lbs total loss. Sybil's still wondering how
any of this is happening, but she's feeling rather quiet today. I think exercise distracts her. <G>
This week, I did the unimaginable and exercised no less than SIX times. That's a personal record.
The variety of exercise kept things interesting: snow shoveling, BodyPump at the Y, aerobics videos,
and toning DVDs. I'm still loving my fitness ball.

I splurged and bought a carton of Skinny Cow ice cream last weekend, and then followed Joyce's
example of weighing my evening dessert portion. Portion control over ice cream using measuring cups
just ain't happening for me; but weighing my portions worked fine for me this week. So far so good:
I've still got more than half a carton in the freezer. Maybe I've found a way to have my ice cream
    and eat it too.

  5. Congrats on another loss and closing in on that next mini-goal, Syb-Roots!

Just was talking about the carton of skinny cows to friends at breakfast (a dangerous meal out) and
mentioned I will not succumb since portion control is still a real issue when it comes to desserts
like ice cream. The individual sandwiches, yes, free rein scoops - no way.

  7. Good job this week. I know what you mean about weighing/measuring your ice cream. I find it easier
and much more safer to by the indiv portions of ice cream. I just can't see my self weighing it. Too
much tempation to take "a little bit more".

Say hi to Sybil for me. She sounds like a winner <g>.

  13. Thanks. I keep finding out that it doesn't matter what Sybil thinks or says. As long as I keep
working the program, the excess weight will continue to come off, despite her craziness. The
best news for me is that Sybil, even though she remains an ever-present voice, no longer
    controls my life.

Yes, until Joyce said she ALWAYS weighs ice cream portions instead of using measuring cups, the idea
had never occurred to me. It was a revelation!

I hope you like your exercise ball as much as I enjoy mine. Even if I don't get an entire routine
in, or use an alternate program, just using the ball at the end of the day to flex and stretch my
back is so relaxing and invigorating at the same time.

  16. I hear ya! Except it doesn't seem to matter with me: sandwiches or cartons, portion control with ice
cream is equally challenging for me. The only difference is that the sandwiches are easier to count.

During the week I'm able to stick with weighing a single serving portion. I'm challenged on the
weekends to do the same, but again, sandwiches or carton don't much matter at that point. The key
for me is to write everything down and monitor my use of flex points.

her. <G> This week, I did the unimaginable and exercised no less than SIX times. That's a personal
record. The variety of exercise kept things interesting: snow shoveling, BodyPump at the Y,
aerobics videos, and toning DVDs. I'm still loving my fitness ball.

I splurged and bought a carton of Skinny Cow ice cream last weekend, and then followed Joyce's
example of weighing my evening dessert portion. Portion control over ice cream using measuring
cups just ain't happening for me; but weighing my portions worked fine for me this week. So far so
good: I've still got more than half a carton in the freezer. Maybe I've found a way to have my ice
    cream and eat it too.

  18. Thanks Nathalie. I like nice and steady.

For me, exercising 6 times in one week is nothing short of miraculous! My goal is 5 times; I'm
    satisfied with 4 times.

Way to go, PR. Seems like you have nice and steady losses, which is great! And well done on the
exercise, 6 times is absolutely brilliant!

I have no clue what RAFL is, but I can see that what you're doing is working for you. You've come
such a long way! Sybil? You hear voices in your head too? LOL

RAFL (Resolutions Are For Losers) is this newsgroup's current weight loss challenge, which is hosted
by Amberle3. Here's the link to find out what the fuss is about and to sign up yourself if you're

Yes, Sybil and I have been fighting for control ever since I started WW. She sounds like she's about
14 y.o.: always negative, always whining or complaining or taunting or pouting, with far too much
energy, too little compassion, and no sense of reason.

    How about your voices? <G>

Alrighty then! I'm closing in on my next mini-goal of 70 lbs total loss. Sybil's still wondering
how any of this is happening, but she's feeling rather quiet today. I think exercise distracts

Another good loss. You are doing well.

Thats impressive. Do you find that exercise causes weight fluctuations? or is it still coming off
    smoothly?

It's hard to say exactly, although if my muscles are sore in the morning after working out the
evening before, I know the scale will show higher. I usually don't exercise on Friday evenings for
that reason: I give my body a chance to cool down before weigh-in. My metabolism, though, is a
little on the sluggish side, so I'm also aware that exercise will keep me steadily losing.

I've just started using mine. If they'd discoved them in medieval times they'd never have needed to
    invent the rack 🙂

The ball hurts so good? If discovered in medieval times, perhaps the authorities would've mistaken
the groans of pleasure from the ball for the groans of agony from the rack?
