  1. Just noticed I forgot to post last week 's result, sorry, Amberle! So week 2 : stayed the same.
Which was OK since I was pre-Tom and had hurt my back, so no exercise. I stopped the anti-
inflammatories this week but haven't started exercising yet since it still hurts a little, but I m'
going to try the stationary bike (gently) this weekend. Week 3 : lost 1.3 kilos or 2.8 pounds! Yay
yay! I had a difficult time getting rid of the holiday munchies and I still have a tendency to
nibble and snack way too much, so if anyone has any good advice I 'd be happy to hear it!

    Great loss!:o)

What really caused me to gain weight very fast was not only the cozy-eating with my boyfriend, but
also the constant "hunger" that drove me into the kitchen to eat cookies, small sandwiches, a little
chocolate etc - what I wanted, whenever I wanted it. Now I have completely stopped eating just what
I "feel like", when the munchies come.

My advice is: Ask yourself what you want more, than the snacks. Do you want to lose weight more,
than you want the tempting snack? What is more apealing to you: Eating the snack right now, or being
slim by the end of the year? Someone said in an earlier thread: "It is not about WILL-power, but WANT-
power." So true. I decided (and decide every day, several times a day) that I want to lose this
weight, more than I want the snack. It puts the munchies and the "need" to eat something into
proportions. Because my want and my need to be slim is even more important.

  4. Congrats on the loss. Careful with the back

  7. Congrats on week 3's loss. Getting back to the exercise after your back heals will help move things
    along again.

Overcoming the holiday munchies has been a challenge for many of us this January. Because of the
weather (cold) and the time of year (dark), I tend to watch more television, which triggers
snacking. People who quit smoking are encouraged to identify those places and times they
associate with smoking and then avoid or alter those places and times to lessen the association.
OK, so I don't eat in the bathroom (some smokers smoke when engaged in certain bodily functions),
but I do eat when watching television. Once I realized that every time I sit down to view a
movie, I "need" to be holding a bowl of popcorn, I now make sure I've got a hot cup of tea in
hand or a bottle of water. For me, that helps. I'm still doing the mindless hand to mouth action,
    but at least it's healthy.

  8. Congrats on your maintain and loss in the last two weeks, Nathalie! I don't have any advice on the
nibbling as I still do it too! GRR! 🙂 Good luck to both of us!

  9. hi,

I am a grazer by nature, when I first started WW I tired to go with three meals and two snacks,
total disaster, I went back to nibbling but here is the change, I ate healthy nibble like carrots
and radishes, and when DH cooks a proper meal, meat, starch and two vegetables I take half of the
meal and eat it later, so I get to sit down with him but still have something basic and healthy to
nibble on, ymmv but I am convinced that this is to a large degree why I am still losing. I figure it
this way, you have to cut total points to lose and for me trying to cut amounts, change items I eat
and change the pattern of eating was just too much, first I concentrated on portions, then on actual
items, and I am looking at trying to change the pattern, just to see if I can live with it but I
think it won't be a good solution so now that I have rambled, I will close by wishing you good luck,

  10. Thanks for your good advice, Mette. And yes, sometimes I ask myself that question and the answer
will be that I want to lose the weight more than I want the snack. But there are also days I want
the snack more, or that I eat away without thinking... that is probably the hardest part for me, a
kind of 'unconscious' eating. But I work on it very day, and I sure have made great progress since
    starting WW!
