  1. At Outback was excellent! One thing I like about that place
is that if I ask for my meat to be rare, they actually serve
    it _rare_!

    Good stuff...... ;-d

The rack of lamb at Outback is really good. What I find
disappointing, at Outback and many of the other steak
chains, is that they are not serving *prime* grade steaks
anymore, but *choice*. Frankly, they're tough, and I can do
better at home. The only steak chains near me that serve
prime grade beef are Ruth's Chris and Morton's, a bit
pricier, but worth it for the occasional steak. But that
    rack of lamb at Outback...yum!

Pretty much agreed. :-) The only place around here that I've
heard sells melt-in-you-mouth prime beef steaks is
Cattleman's steakhouse (or something like that) in Austin.
    I've not been there yet...

Glad you agree. :-) Makes me wish that Lamb was cheaper in
the grocery stores! I'd like to eat it more often.

I like the way they make sure you realllly mean rare by
asking "rare, as in cool to the touch in the middle rare?"

    yais!

For me, there is rare - where the juices flow but it's still
red (not pink) and there is "very" rare where it's a dark
red and no juices are released.

Cattlemen's? In Texas? That chain sounds like a Johnny Come

They really are not bad for a chain. :-) Medium pricing.
They have the bloomin' onion which is a nice treat to me as
I don't eat that kind of thing very often,

but the rack of lamb is downright memorable, and worth the
price. Enough food too to split if you want to save money
and share. They don't mind doing that. It's 8 ribs and with
the salad and veggies and bread and stuff, it's just more
than I can eat in one meal! Too much food...

I sometimes tell people that I don't want it to actually
scream when I cut into it, but it should at least
    whimper a bit.

WOW! 8 ribs is a LOT of meat, even if they're skinny. What

do better at home. The only steak chains near me that
serve prime grade beef are Ruth's Chris and Morton's, a
bit pricier, but worth it for the occasional steak. But
that rack of lamb at Outback...yum!

I'm going to have to make a trip over there sometime soon,
I'm not fond of lamb but I'd certainly be willing to try it
again with such a recommendation. I'll send you the bill if
    I don't like them.

Be sure to get it rare, and use the gravy that they serve on
    the side. ;-d

It was $17.00, served with fresh loaf bread that you cut at
the table, a salad of your choice and a choice of steamed
veggiesor garlic mashed potatoes or a baked potato.

It's a LOT of food. :-) There is quite a bit of meat on
those ribs too, and being lamb, I didn't think it was
    terribly fatty.
