Race like motocross

That sounds to me like the old BMX races I used to be involved in many years ago now. Reading your post brought back memories of the fun that used to be had, but I'm way too old for that game now.

A lot of that was incidents and crashes and as an old man now I'm much too fragile to go back to them days, haha.

Sounds like BMX racing to me! Well BMX does stand for "bicycle motocross."
BMX and 4X racing has actually been making a big comeback recently.
Okay well some say it never left, but I have noticed a few new race tracks have popped up in the last few years and they are promoting it more on the local news (probably because they have nothing left to report on, people are getting tired of hearing about crack-heads stealing copper wires and mysterious fires at businesses owned by the mob.)

Big time crashes though, certainly a young people game.
BUT if you want to talk BMX, the new generation of trick riders are doing things that seemly defy the laws of physics.

It's interesting how you say about it making a comeback because like you also pointed out, for those that have been in to it for a long time it's never really lost popularity, it's just gone a bit less mainstream than what it once was.

As for the new generation of riders, they're definitely doing things now that riders could only dream about in the past, but technology also plays a big part in that also.

Fair enough, I guess it's been around a few decades now and more people are recently deciding to get into it.
But I wonder why the mainstream didn't talk about it for so long and now it's getting a lot more attention.
Maybe a lot of people are becoming disillusioned with the state of mainstream sporting events and looking more towards things they can do with their kids without getting yelled at by crazy sports parents.

I think with any sporting activities, they get popular, then fall off the radar, till a new generation comes along and find the sport again, usually claiming that they've invented it, when us older ones know better!

That's the same with BMX. When you look at the riders competing now, very few of them will know about the famous BMX riders of the past, and will have just taken up the sport because it's fun. BMX as been around for a long time though, and just because it IS more advanced these days, doesn't mean that what the riders were doing back that wasn't any less innovative for that period.

You are right. That bike motocross race is all about being dirty - mud, grime and... accidents. The terrain is very rough\ with slides and ascents that when muddy it is surely slippery. There was one ascent where participants had the most difficulty to climb, most of them suffer a slide or a crash. But I tell you, it was fun to watch since the participants seemed to be invulnerable to pain. They seem to be smiling after the gruelling race.

Taking part in these events is fun, and I always enjoyed it when I used to do it, even though its a few years ago now!

I think when you get to the professional level though then it's like any sport. The more competitive it gets and the more the prizes are worth, then the riskier it gets.

Yes it's BMX racing, I used to really like it when I was a kid. It could really get competitive and I remember quit a few fights breaking out because of people trying to cut each other off.

It wasn't just the kids that were competing that got into fights, and I remember being at a few tracks as an 8 or 9 year old and the parents watching on the sidelines got a bit heated, shall we say!

Lol thanks for reminding me I had forgotten about that. I think the parents were even worse then the kids.

I think that always seems to be the way whenever children compete and the parents are there to watch. BMX racing was a physical contact sport aswell and that doesn't help!
