2004 Amstel is won by Team Orange. That's the only race they can win,
and the only one their sponsor has ever heard of. Sound like anyone
else we know?

I don't know if its the only one they heard of but it is important to the
sponsor as it is the only world cup race in the netherlands.
As I see it : there are teams for the tour and there are teams for the
classics. No team (ok, VERY few) can do both.

Even Quick-Step has a team for the classics (Museeuw, Boonen, Bettini, etc.) and
another team for the Tour (Rogers, Virenque, Dufaux, the Spaniards). You rarely
see them riding together. ProTour mentality, I guess.

Oscar Freire rides for the Rabobank team. He won Milan-San Remo
last month.
Rabobank has a rich history in one-day racing. Check out the palmares,
wins and podium finishes, of Boogerd, Dekker and Sorenson to name a few.

When Sorensen won L-B-L he was still riding for Carrera.
