I can only agree with the long carbon seatpost sticking out that makes the ride really plush. Compact frame are lighter cos less material are use and stiffer too cos shorter tube less flex and better transfer of power. About the long ride comfort use a carbon post to solve this problem.

Exactly. You can get the same effect from a traditional frame using the same angles.
The only time I could see warranting a compact frame is in a situation where you wanted your seat below the handlebars.

I agree. Better looking is a seat post sticking way up out of a conventional frame. 😄
