I like koolaid, but I get an allergic reaction to the sweetener in sugar
free koolade. Can I buy regular koolaid (that you put sugar in) and
instead put Splenda? and how much? same amount as sugar, or less?

Just keep in mind that maltodextrin (the filler for powdered Splenda)
does have a minimal amount of carbs. Likely not a problem unless you
were planning on drinking quarts and quarts of the stuff a day.Or you can use the Carb Options drinks (Splenda sweetened) if they are
available to you. Less filler.Quoted message said:

Well, it's supposed to be a one to one ratio with the powdered Splenda
as compared to table sugar. However, I prefer to substitute anywhere from 2/3 to 3/4 cup of
Splenda per cup of sugar. So I'd suggest starting out with 1/2 cup or
so and keep adding if necessary to taste. -

I use 20 packets per gallon.

I use a lot of unsweetened Koolaid too. I like that I can use as much or
as little sweetener for my own preference. I generally use sweetener
equivalent to 1/2 cup of sugar for a pitcher even though the directions on
the Koolaid package call for a full cup. That's just too sweet for me.
If the OP is using the boxed Splenda, she would use the same amount as she
does for sugar. The packets that Om's referring to are equivalent to 2
teaspoons sugar each, so she would figure out how many packets equal the
amount of sugar she wants to replace.OmManiPadmeOmelet said:

packets for a large cup of coffee. If Splenda says that a packet is
equivalent to two teaspoons of sugar, I think I must be not as sensistive
to Spenda, as four teaspoons of sugar would be way, way too much for me
(however, I've not had sugar in my coffee for over 20 years, so maybe I'm
just remembering incorrectly how sweet sugar is).--

standard recipe. I think the one in the SF type is
aspartame.Splenda does come in bulk form, and it is supposed to
substitute for sugar volume for volume (it weighs
something like half as much so not weight for weight).
Note the carb count per cup because the filler is
carby.Splenda also comes in packets that are the
equivalent of a teaspoon of sugar each but they are
much less volume. Count the filler as 0.5 grams per
packet.Splenda also comes in diluted syrups. I have no idea
how to convert that, but it should work.My general answer to the "same amount as sugar" is
I like around half of the amount stated in recipes.
Strictly personal taste issue. -

Splenda packets sub for 2 teaspoons sugar, and have a gram of carb.
Both are 1/8 the weight/carbs of sugar.--
