Question about Sidi shoe sizes

I have Sidi size 44, and Shimano size 44...they both fit the same.
Dunno about other brands.

I have had this sitaution myself. I take a 46.5 generally but with sidis that size is way too tight across my foot and i needed to go up a full size.

I don't have wide feet and I mail ordered a pair once (from Deeside) giving my usual size. Indeed they came with the size I specified but they felt as if they were 1 size smaller. I never had the same issues with other brands thus far - Northwave, Gaerne and DVT.

Look for Sedi 'Mega'. They are a wider width shoe from Sedi for an E or EE foot width.

I have EEEE wide feet and I just got my first pair of Sidi Genius Mega yesterday. I take 45 and wanted to order 1/2 a size up just incase the were too tight. I couldn't find any 45.5 (many stores complain of erratic supply) so I took a chance on 45... I'm VERY glad I did... PERFECT fit!

I think the problem in the past has not been the size (length) but the fact that Sidi has a narrow last and people with normal or silightly wider feet will have to up-size. This is just a guess, I could be completely wrong.

BTW my Sidis are the best shoes I've ever used.

Is the extra width in the Sidi Genius Mega mainly in the toebox area or along the entire length of the shoe? I have an eroded big toe joint on my left foot so I can use the extra width at the front of the foot, but often find that wide sizes tend to slip to much in the heel for me.

Yep...100% I'm a Carnac/Time 45, Sidi 46.

In my opinion it is. (I notice no slipping at all in the heal area with my feet securely strapped in the shoe, and other than a EE width, I would guess my feet are average).
