Just curious: Does everyone just use the BMI as a strict guide, or do
they make their own adjustments? In my case, I am 6 foot 3, and I have
a huge frame. Also, I am a former weightlifter and I still have a good
deal of residual upper-body muscular bulk, and in addition, even at my
heaviest, I have been athletic, and able to run four miles in forty
minutes, approximately 3-5 times a week, with minimal effort. Hence, my
legs are like tree trunks (e.g., even more muscle weight).
As it stands right now, I have virtually no abdominal obesity
noticeable whatsoever, other than a bit of a "jiggly layer" that
bunches up when I bend over.
So, I've tentatively set my goal weight at 200. However, I just can't
imagine weighing 200 pounds. I haven't weighed that since.... well... I
can't remember when (probably grade school).
Anyways, I'm wondering if I should set myself a goal more like 220,
and then evaluate from there.
Interested in how other people set their goal weight...
