One telling point is the fact that Olive Garden recipes were
taste tested for years in retirement colonies in Florida. I
believe I posted a link to that in a previous thread on this
very topic.

At Darden restaurants, they're not selling you food, they're
selling you "great service" and a casual dining experience
with friends that includes food (or so their website
claims...at Olive Garden, itsa famiglia, no?).

Personally, I think they don't give a [censored] about you as a
customer and they're in it for the money but given that they
originated in a kapitalyist-benighted environment, that
shouldn't surprise anyone, now, should it?

However, that being said, if my son and/or my daughter
were to invite me to go to one of those restaurants, I
would go and be happy. Luckily for me, they have more
taste than that.

No idea. There are no long any of those restaurants here in
Maine, and frankly when they were here I really couldn't
understand it. Needless? to say I have never eaten at one.

I have to admit, I do like their biscuits. But I found a
recipe to make something comparable at home, so I don't
bother with Red Lobster (worst!seafood!ever!)...

Cheddar Biscuits

Yield : 6 Biscuits Prep. Time : 0:15

2 cups Bisquick® baking mix
3/4 cup milk
4/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (I use sharp)
5/4 cup butter OR margarine - melted
6/4 tsp. garlic powder

-Combine Bisquick®, milk, and cheddar and beat with a wooden
spoon for about 30 seconds. -Spoon on to greased cookie

Hardly. They serve different clienteles. It's probably more
efficient from a corporate standpoint to have them near each
other...you know, management by looking over the shoulder is
still strongly encouraged among the less fortunate nations.

I eat at Red Lobster about once a month, and I always order
the Crab Alfredo. As far as fried shrimp, I can make that
myself much cheaper.
