I am about half way through a novice marathon training course and just encountered blisters. The blisters aren't from running- I am careful about using Vaseline on my feet and wearing synthetic socks and never had a problem with them.
This week, however, I went to Washington DC and walked for three days in regular shoes and the pads of my feet and numerous toes are now blistered in several places.
I popped them with a clean needle and drained them and am just curious if, other than the pain, there is any danger in running with blistered feet. I do not want to get off track with the training program but don't want to do something that will let a small problem turn into something more significant.

Just watch them for infection; consider using 90% isopropyl alcohol and neosporin or the like to reduce the risk. Careful not to let the foot pain alter your running form too much or you can get weird pains in your knees and other places.
Ok a serious reply: what the hell are you wearing? First off dump the synthetic socks. I wear all cotton, and in 9 miles a day for years, I cannot remember the last time I had a blister, but I think it was the holyoke race of champions marathon in 1983. You are either wearing the wrong socks (no vaseline, ever on my feet) or the wrong size or type of shoes for your feet. You need to seriously step back, and re-think your basic equipment. Get cotton socks, and larger or different shoes.

I have been wearing synthetic blend socks since I started marathon training but before that, on shorter runs, just regular cotton socks. I have never gotten a blister from running- with either sock.
I was wearing dyed, cotton socks and regular lace up docker type shoes in Washington DC for three days (and several miles) of walking and that is what resulted in the blisters.
Thanks to all for the info!

Don't be such a [censored], Bill. It stings but it kills EVERYTHING. Why
do you think they use it at hospitals and clinics before shots, etc.?>
Correct, but they never, ever, rub it into an open wound. It's just absurd.
I do, but then again I'm probably a tough old nut. Haven't gotten gangrene yet, and I do have a tendency to cut and scrape myself (not running) pretty regularly.

nobody advocates cotton. please. ...thehick
The OP did not get blisters from running; he got them from walking around DC in "regular" shoes.
