oh well, and why the US postal are unable to mount a team 100 % full american ?

you are 300 millions and you can't even make a team of 10 american racers because you know that you
would be slower than the others during the TTT.

and when Armstrong run out of gaz in the Alpes D'huez you pretend that it was because a brake
blocked his wheel during all the climb!

Laurent, You changed the topic to L'Alpe d'Huez. Are you whining because the first French racer
across the line at L'Alpe d'Huez was only in 11th place, behind 2 Americans? What is your point? If

Can you please list the ALL french team that is doing so well in the tour for us all please?? I
guess there is CA (an Aussie, O'Grady)... Confidis (Miller an Englishman)... oh but then there is
FDJ with their Aussie yellow jersey (McGee) and Aussie green jersey (Cooke).

million and where cycling is given a 'less than zero' rate of coverage!

Oh and on the technology front... did you complain as well when Lemond won the Tour for a 'French'

30,000 licensed bike racers in the USA we've come up with one that is far better than any of the

Lance is a special case, an exceptional talent who rose despite the system. French cycling is down
at the moment, if you exclude one person, you can say US cycling is too.

You'd have to keep on producing more Lance Armstrongs though. Otherwise there'd be no USPS and only
3 US racers in the TdF (instead of the 6 starters this year). Out of 3 or 4,000 licenses in Oz there
are 7 racers in the Tour.

1. the tour of france is a french race. who is in the race is stacked in favor of being french. so,
"whats the deal?"

2. the last time i read the uci rules ( 2000 ), a team must have a majority of it's riders be
citizens of the home country. I have not checked the rosters of the 2003 tof, but I would bet
that all teams have racers from other countries. who is selected for a given race is simply
matching skills to the format of that race.

Nope. Who in France is better than Tyler? Maybe Levi? Weren't those two guys both the designated
team leaders for the Tour? Who does France have? And to say "Lance rose in spite of the system" is
dumb. The "system" consisted of at least two very good coaches (Testa and Ferrari) along the way,
being incorporated into two good teams (USA teams at that) with pretty good management, and good
sponsor support.

Only speculation that USPS would not be around without Lance. If some of the USA pros wanted to go
to Europe to be second-rate domestiques like many of the guys in the Tour there could be many more
Americans in the race. USPS left guys home who are capapable of riding on French teams.

You also don't seem to understand my comments about French athletes in American sports. If American
kids cared about cycling they could do very well, but they choose other sports. Comprendez-vous?
