All,
On my short communte (<5km) there is a short stretch of contra-flow
cycle lane; approx 60 metres at a guess. The cycle lane side is single
yellow lined; with the far side being a double yellow line. Approx 90%
of the time there is at least one car parked on the cycle lane.
In the event that I move out to pass the parked car, I am in effect
cycling the wrong way down a one way street.
I'm not overly concerned for my safety; I have (I hope) enough sense to
make a sensible judgement on when its safe, but wonder if anyone can
enlighten me on the legal position generally, but particularly should I
be in a crash?
(Eyre Place; Edinburgh, EH3 for those who know it.)
thoughts?
M.
