Have words with the Council. Edinburgh isn't exactly known for Not
Having Any Traffic Wardens, and I'm sure at least one could be
dispatched to prevent you from having to break the rules yourself.

Practice your trials skills. A set of tread marks up the bonnet, over
the roof and down the boot will not only look impressive to onlookers
but perhaps persuade the owner that parking in a bike lane is not a good
idea ;-)

(contact council): I'll see what I can find in terms of cycling officer
on the edinb website. Its mostly washy 'nice noise' from what I can
see.

Julia,
(deflate tyres): I suspect the guys who own the vehicles may be
significantly bigger than me (they're frequently white construction
vans!). Thanks for the suggestion though.

(just ride over them): I think I'll start training... I may schedule
first live attempt for early next spring. Will keep you posted.

They may not give you a reliable answer. Best to check with the clerk
of the court when you appear there. :-)

It is a two way street for bikes.

In many cases streets remain two way for all vehicles, but motor
vehicles are prevented from entering at one end. However, that seems
not to be the case in that part of Eyre Place, judging by the signs
at the entrance to the building yard.
