Hey, I'm kinda new to road biking and I was wondering if it's worth an extra $10 for a half-zip jersey or if i should go with a cheaper quarter-zip one.

It's a personal preference, but for me it'd need to be full-zip to have any value over a quarter-zip. I don't typically ride with my jersey unzipped however, as it catches bugs, dirt, etc. and doesn't really improve cooling over a wicking fabric.

Ok then, I guess I can move along pretty fast on a road bike so the ventilation shouldn't be too much of a problem.
@frenchyge: Ha, yeah, I suppose bugs can be a problem in my area...

Yep, air moves through warm weather jersey wicking material very easily.
Zippers and vents are typically more important when you buy cold weather clothing...

Unless you are stretching out the neck-hole of borrowed cashmere sweaters (a la George Costanza), then I don't see any real difference between a "quarter-zip" and "half-zip" jersey. (But you might prefer a full-zip, on occasion.)

Why do jerseys go up in price as the zipper gets longer? It's just a longer zipper...

Once a bee gets scooped into the opening of your half unzipped jersey, you'll learn to deal with minor temperature differences just fine. :eek:😄
