Purchasing 1st Road Bike

Though I ride a Specialized Tarmac Comp, I have read that all three of these bikes are good. In other words, you won't be making a mistake by buying any one of them. However; if it were me, I'd go with a Cannondale but that's just me.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but how do you like the 7300? I have a Madone SL 5.2 and have been eyeballing a 7100.

I don't know a lot about bikes, but I have talked with a lot of people and they kind of seem to have a concesus, "Buy what you like and what you will ride." So start with look I suppose and then move on to does it fit you well.

CAAD8 all the way, best bang for your buck. I built up a CADD8 last summer and absolutely can't rave about it enough. When contemplating a full AL frame, Cannondale knows their stuff; stiff, light and comfortable

One vote for Trek 1500. Mine is sitting behind me right now in my cubicle. I ride to work on it, train on it, do group rides, century, etc. Love it! Only thing I changed was the tires - replaced them with Michelin Krylion carbons. No flats in 2000 miles. The bontrager tires that came with it cut up pretty easily.

The 7300 is a great hybrid, comfortable ride and no problems at all. I put bar ends and toe straps on it and the ride got even better. I'm going to keep it for casual days and rail trails.
