  1. Hello,

Has anyone experienced their PT hub coming loose (looks like at the bearings)? Mine has come loose a few times. I am able to tighten it with a wrench and screw-driver🙂 but I am concerned that this is a long term problem.

Is this something that someone else has experienced? Does this sound like an LBS type of fix or Saris?

    Thanks!

Yes. Every few months I have to go in and tighten the cone a bit. I'm not sure if there's a more permanent fix.

  5. I have a PT Pro as well, and I'm getting dropouts every now and then, a few times each hour. It's brand new, it's got the shark fin receiver, I've changed the batteries, but still getting dropouts.

Anything else I just check, or is this a more common problem with Pro's then with the SL (I have several SL's, but none of them with this problem)?

I use PT SL on my racing wheels and PT Pro on my everyday wheels and sharkfin sensors on the bikes. I have seen very few dropouts with either the SL or the Pro model. Did you follow the newer sharkfin mounting recommendations of < 3 inches from axle to sensor rather than the older 5 inch mounting recommendation?

You also might want to start a new thread or dig up an old PT data dropout thread. Not sure how many folks will surf down a PT Loose Hub thread talking about cone nuts and cone wrenches to answer your data dropout question.

Assuming you've changed the CPU battery as well as hub, and your receiver is right up close to the hub (per installation spec), call Cycle-Ops customer support.

They don't always get it right the first time (the hubs working 100% when shipped), but they make up for it by fixing them quickly, for free.
