A touchy subject, but curious if anyone has ever had what I call prostate cramps or spasms? They seem to be aggravated or caused by the bike seat. My doctor assures me the bike seat does indeed cause prostate irritation. Pretty intense pain for about five or ten minutes, then it goes totally away.
An intense pain centered around the rectum and prostate; certainly feels like a muscle spasm. Which is possible since the prostate is smooth muscle.

Make sure your properly fitted on your bike. Try using different kinds of seat and see which is the most comfortable, it can make all the difference.
1st lower your seat about an 1/8th of an inch a small amount can make a huge differance in prostate problems. 2nd take cold baths or go swimming in the ocean or pool the water really helps stop the problem.I know from experience.
I have never heard of this problem before...interesting .Since I am 53 and have an enlarged prostate. Does the cramping or spasms have any effect on voiding the bladder?
I had my prostate examined as I was having chronic urination problems. To put it crudely I was pissing every 10 minutes during my night shifts. It was like my bladder never felt it could be emptied. My prostate exam revealed no problem but I've noticed the symptoms arise after cycling or even weight-training. Seems like some kind of strain but I wonder if my bike seat has caused problems as it's particularly pointed and hard.

yes mate, I had this for a while, I even had small orgasms once stoping my bike. very uncomfortable and odd, as I had some sort of orgasms, mixed with pain and numbness. I think I should go to the doctor probably
Here's a link to info that may or may not be related. I have severe cramping in prostate area from time to time but often it is at night while sleeping, but it can occur at other odd times. Read this Wikipedia account and see if it may be related: en.wikipedia.orgProctalgia fugaxOpen ↗
