Don't let it stop anyone else from proceding, but I can't do that
weekend. Other than that, if I can get my fitness up a bit (it's at an
all time low at the moment) then I'll certainly give it a go if I'm
available.

river walks and Sugar Loaf etc. for the less hard.

A quick look at the diary suggests I'm currently free that weekend.
I've never walked in the Black Mountains (I don't think), so put me
down as a definite maybe.

We've just had one in Scotland - well sort of - Martin's compleation
jaunt to Mull. We met up in Skye waaaaay back and also in Glen Coe one
very cold February. Then last year we met at Tibbie Sheils.

What case is that? That 15 out of 19 expeditions doesn't constitute a
'vast majority'? I reckon it's more the case that the people who are
of a mind to go on URW expeditions find it easier to get to Wales or
the lake district than to anywhere north of Carlisle.

Which is fine - I'm not complaining. I'm just making the point that,
err, well, I'm not quite sure what my point is actually. I'll just go
and dribble in the corner.

have bothered to turn up for them.

I think your namesake would be insulted to be called a "pop" singer! Last I
heard, Family were being referred to as an "art rock" band. Never really
thought of them as that either, but they certainly weren't pop.

And I imply from Colin's that our Scots brethren are disinclined to
either initiate or attend expeds. Possibly becasue fraternising with
the auld enemy is still frowned upon and why travel south of the
border when everything any hillbagger would ever want can be found
to the north of it.
