Ilena, You always say the nicest things. The truth is,
I could never have put up with the [censored] that you do.
All that [censored] would have finished me off. The women
have a lot to thank you for. You are the true hero in

Jan, the data you posted PROVES that I am right. Message 3
in this collection is a message YOU posted that was
crossposted to three newsgroups. Message 4 is my response to
your Message 3, in which I retained the newsgroups you used.
These three newsgroups appear to have been inherited from a
posting Ilena made (originally also including
sci.environment, but in Ian St. John's followup, that
    newsgroup was deftly excised).

Just read the headers, the header format is defined right
    here: faqs.orgrfc850.html
Mr. Bohlman will be delighted to answer any questions you
may have about what all these bits of information mean.

Here it is sitting in the References line of Mark's post.
That means that Mark posted it as a followup to your post.
And if you look a couple lines above, you will see that
the Newsgroups line of his post is *identical* to the
    newsgroups line of your post.

Yes, that was never in question. What is is how the trhee
groups got in my post, as I posted *ONLY to MHA. And how
did the fourth group get deleted??

Your newsreader simply honored the Newsgroups: and Followup-
To: lines in Ian's post. Apparently (I've never used
AOL's newsreader) it didn't inform you of the fact that
the post you were following up to was crossposted and had
    followups set.

At this point, Jan, you are either lying or delusional.

    No, Eric, I am neither.

The headers that *you yourself* posted demonstrate
*conclusively* that Mark did not change the list of
newsgroups the post went to. There is no room for
    doubt here.

*I* myself ONLY posted to MHA.

Furthermore there is room for doubt, as Mark aslo send one
of my posts to alt. test and it did NOT appear on MHA, so
    that LEAVES ROOM FOR DOUBT.

The headers you posted *conclusively* demonstrate that Mark
had *nothing* to do with the fact that your post was
crossposted to three of the four groups that the original
was crossposted to. In fact, they demonstrate that Mark
didn't become involved in the thread until *after* you made
your post. Unless you're prepared to allege that Mark hacked
into at least several major news servers, including Google's
archives, in order to retroactively change the distribution
of your post, you owe him an apology (and if you do choose
to accuse him of hacking, be aware that that would be an
accusation that he committed a felony, which means that if
it were untrue, it would fall into the category of libel
_per se_, which in turn means that if he were to sue you for
defamation, he'd have an easier time proving his case than
    if it were ordinary libel).

Now, you tell me how Mark sent my post to alt. test. and
it did NOT appear HERE where I sent it.

    March 9th.

    tinyurl.com39bym

He simply set the Followup-To: line of his post to alt.test,
which instructs any well-behaved newsreader to send
followups there and not here. BTW, I strongly disagree with
him having done so, given that posts to alt.test result in
automatic email responses to the original poster. That was a
cheap shot on his part. But he had absolutely *nothing* to
do with the way the post we were previously discussing was
    crossposted.

That is certainly dishonest and should not be allowed.

It's how newsreaders have behaved for at least the last 20
years; it's unfortunate that some newsreaders try to hide
crosspost and followup behavior from their users.

    What Jan Drew hears:

Blah blah blah blah blah 20 years blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah crosspost blah blah blah blah blah blah
    blah blah.

Why do you bother trying to communicate in an educational
manner with Jan Drew? Public humiliation has so far been the
only effective tool for moderating her behavior, and
    woefully inadequate in that regard.

Jan, the data you posted PROVES that I am right. Message
3 in this collection is a message YOU posted that was
    crossposted to three newsgroups.

Well, it shouldn't have been. I only posted to MHA.

    I have a question.....

In the past when Jan responds to a crossposted message, she
responded to only MHA, thus validating her claim that AOL
does not allow for crossposting. Now we see her posting a
message through AOL, and she can crosspost. Does this mean
that she is snipping out the groups? If so, why, especially
since she has no idea of which group the OP reads?

The problem is now cleared up.

Your queston is pathetic, as usual.

Wrong. My question is NOT cleared up. You have claimed for
months and months that you CANNOT crosspost from AOL. Now
you can. Howver, you persist to snip out the other groups
(which is wrong, BTW, unless you are asked to do so, since
you often cannot know which group the person you are
    replying to is posting from).

    Jan you have been caught.
