  1. Anybody have any trouble with Aquasphere Kaiman goggles tearing at the
eyepiece? They have a wonderful fit and feel and stay very dry inside.
I keep them in separate container from a pair of sunglasses I had, so
they wouldn't flop around and crush or bend the seals BUT when I put
them on just before a sprint on Sunday morning, the flexible center
piece between the eyes was about 90% torn through. They made it
through the swim, but they are only six weeks old. That don't make it!

Anyone with similar problems. I would like to replace them, but not if
this is a problem with the model.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. They had a problem last year or earlier w/ some tearing at the nose bridge.
I spoke to a rep at an expo and he exchanged a pair of mine. I have had two
pair since and I tend to lose them before they show any wear/problems. I
    really love the fit.

I won't buy another pair. I've had 3 go bad on me in exactly the same
way. The last two were replacements, with the assurance that they'd
    "fixed the problem."

    Not.

I love the fit, too. But why risk having them go bad race morning?

I sspoke to a few dealers and they confirmed that they have changed
the molds, so the problem is somewhat better. Aqua Spehere doesn;t
argue about replacement during the warranty period. They are so nice
that people put up with it, and some keep a separate pair just for
race day so they don't get a bad surpise.

  5. I sent 5 pairs back to Kaiman and received 5 new pairs. The replacements do
seem better, but eventually they also break at center piece. These are the only
goggles that seem to fit me and they have great visibility. If we can put a
man on the moon..... you think they could make goggles that won't break. Stan

I love the Kaimans, but I too have had two pair break at the nose. I
just got a pair of their new Seal Mask XP -- it's a hybrid of their
Kaiman goggles and bigger seal mask. They say it doesn't have the drag
of the regular seal masks and has even more visibility than the
Kaiman. Seems just as comfy, but I've not yet tried them out in the
pool. Might be worth looking into since they're flexible like the
Kaiman but not as narrow in the nose bridge.

    Cheers,
    Kara
