Not in the "I just can't connect with it" way, but in the sound way.
I got an adult trainer unicycle from unicycle.uk.com about 3 weeks ago.
I've been riding it quite a lot, but it hasn't had any major knocks or
anything. I've recently noticed a strange clicking sound that occurs
when my left foot is just past the top of it's cycle (say 10-11 o'clock
when looking side on). The noise is definitely coming from the left
hand side. Being a cautious chap, I went home and tightened everything
up, but to no avail.
Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? It doesn't happen if I
just turn the wheel, even if I use the pedal to do so. It only appears
to happen when I am pushing downward on the pedal. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. I don't want my uni to break, but nor do I want to
stop riding it.
On a side note, I went about 150m today, I can turn most of the time,
and I can freemount about 50% of the time. Oh, and I successfully went
over a speed bump today. I don't mean to brag (especially since almost
everyone reading this will be better than me), but no-one I know really
cares that much.

good job.keep practicing.
Try checking the crank,pushing/pulling on it with your hand to see if
its loose or wiggles.also check if the bearingmounts(under the wheel
were the bearings go on)are tight.--

GuyI'd bet your left pedal has a partially failed bearing, almost
certainly. No biggie. Ride it to failure and replace it down the road. The pedals on trainer uni's, like my Sun, are cheap junk. Replacement
pairs cost about US$8.To check spoke tension, strum or pluck them, listening for consistant
tone.hth.

Congrats on the progress.
From what you described, I think it's a problem with your pedal. I
would replace the pedal with a new one and try riding more. If the
clicking stops, you know it's just the pedal, if it continues, you have
bigger problems.A clicking pedal is no big problem. The bearings in the cheap pedals
that come on trainer unicycles aren't all that strong. But you can
continue to ride them till the fail completely, there's no reason not
to. Just make sure you have a spare on hand.Hope that helps,
Daniel--

Thanks, and also thanks to daino149 who said the same thing pretty much.
It's slightly annoying, but it's not a big problem. I was down the
park unicycling again yesterday, and it has either stopped, or i've
stopped noticing it. Either way, as long as my uni isn't going to fall
apart as i'm riding, I'm happy. God, unicycling is fun.

For some reason, I often get applause for riding over speed bumps...
Where are these people when I ride off curbs?
One of the great things about unicycling is that it ALWAYS impresses
non-riders, no matter how good (or bad) you are. Riding around campus,
the thing that gets the biggest response is when I stop, and still
stand/bunny-hop in place waiting for someone/something to get out of the
way. Makes me glad everyone hasn't seen the GOOD cyclists, it'd make me
look worse 🙂--

Maybe you should try clicking with your mouse instead of your
unicycle.

I would check out your bearing holders, it is the most common problem,
they must NOT be tightened too much or they crush the bearings. They
should be only hand tight plus a little bit.The pedals fitted on the trainer unicycle are actually some of the
better ones fitted to unicycles in terms of the bearings. They tend not
to have problems. Here would be my check list:
1. Check wheel in the right way around
2. Check the bearings are not over tightened
3. Check the pedals are tight
4. Check the cranks are tightHope this helps

Lots of times a rider's shoelace will hit the crank every revolution and
mimic a more serious problem. Try tucking in your shoelaces, a good
practice anyway.--

I had the clunking problem on my Torker LX. The cause of that was the
main cap bearing holders were a little too loose.I had a similar problem with both of my pedals on my Nimbus Muni. I
would get the clicking / clunking at the top of every power stroke. It
would be worse when I was pedaling harder. My solution was to take apart the pedals and regrease them. I did one
and rode with it after the regrease to see if it fixed the problem. It
did, so I regreased the second pedal. Clicking eliminated. The
regreasing was not really that difficult to do.--

We may be better than you ( although if you keep progressing that may
change ), but we also know how it feels to learn new things, pretty
good. Just think, today speed bumps, tomorrow one foot riding, riding
speed bumps backwards, the possibilitys are many.I had clicking in my pedal I think it was, might still have it, either
way the unis still working, so obviously for me it wasn't big.Keep having fun, even if nobodys intrested in it but you, soon others
will be interested and then you can teach them to ride : )Andrew

I've had the horrible cheap pedals that came on my uni for years now.
Just because they're cheap doesn't mean I want to pay for new ones.
Whenever they start making funny noises, or come loose, I FIX them. With mine, there is a moulded plasic plug in the end, with the help of a
suitably sharp implement, you can lever that off and get at the nut
underneath. Generally, all you have to do is tighten that up, this
should prevent the bearings from dying too soon.Actually I quite like my horrible block pedals, they're the only ones
that dont have pins in them so its a lot nicer for riding barefoot.--
