Predictions for Saturday's TT..

lance will win by at least 10 seconds in the TT. then of course the overall will follow....

Jan wins ITT by 45 seconds. lance the tour by 20 seconds.

the TT but not the Tour!

I say JU will win the TT by a small margin(10-25 seconds) and Lance to win his fifth consecutive

Yes, he said he'd be back next year if he lost this year. Don't see why he wouldn't be back
if he won.

Also, Ekimov re-signed for another year... ANd as I remember, he came out of retirement to join USPS
specifically to help LA win more yellow jerseys.

Lance wins tomorrow. Ulrich goes on an ecstacy/ booze/techno dance party binge the night before
paris, steals the USPS team car with all the bikes and goes on a drug induced joyride through paris
with german techno music blaring. While trying to do the raver-glowstick dance behind the wheel, he
crashes the car into the eiffel tower and gets kicked out of the tour. without a bike lance is
forced to go to the 24 hour le super walmart and snag one of those new fangeld schwinn department
store bikes to ride the final stage. He somehow manages to hang with the pack on the schwinn and
wins the tour in dramatic fashion once again restoring credibility to the schwinn brand. meanwhile a
disgruntled mario cipollini hops into the stage midway through without notice and takes the final
sprint into paris wearing a "screw the french" t-shirt. T his causes an uproar with the french, who
immediately invade italy in retaliaion. Germany then takes advantage of a defenseless (as per usual)
france and invades while they are galavanting about italy sipping wine and chasing ladies. world war
3 ensues bringing about the end of the world as we know it (and i feel fine). thanks jan.

Armstrong by 30 seconds. However, it'll be very interesting, if indeed it is rainy, and the roads
are slick. LA has been hoping for cooler weather. Be careful of what you ask for, you shall
surely get
it....

One has to wonder whether Ullrich is as strong as he was for the 1st ITT.

rabbits, which should help him. In fact, Vinokourov stated that his main goal in the ITT was not to
be caught by Ullrich, though he also said that he would like to see Ullrich win the tour.

pull the brakes on the wet roads, just lowered speed on two(!) occasions on the whole trip.

But it's hard to ride straight whn one encounters a rotary (traffic roundabout), as
Ullrich did. Surely, he and the other riders who fell might beg to differ on whether the

The conditions prevented Ullrich from manifesting his strength. Armstrong had clearly recovered,
and even under dry conditions would likely have lost to Ullrich by no more than 10-20 seconds.
However, I believe that LA was keeping much in reserve for a final kick, and would probably have
beaten JU under any conditions, even if Ullrich had not crashed. Well, unless the temperatures
for the stage reached 40 Celsius!
