[censored] Pound, the President of WADA, has been tasked to see cycling become a
sport clean of drugs within the next year, with the new test.

Lance Armstrong is attacking and calling for the firing of the [censored] Pound,
the President of the WADA. A man he doesn't know. Lance is being very
evasive because he is afraid of the new drug testing panels that include
pre-cursor steroids. He is considering leaving and retiring to avoid the new
drug testing, this option gives him a great future in marketing products,
and not being identified as a "Cheater". It is the only way out for Lance.
Lance Armstrong is Dirty, so get used to it.

Many people, including myself have seen Lance and other racers, some of the
shakes, and jerky movements, and twitching at times during races, this was
    reported in the press, too.

    Put this in context:
Pound was quoted in the January 28 edition of Le Monde as saying, "the
riders of the Tour de France and the others take banned substances."

WADA is an organization of action, it's not a PR organization. I am a
huge advocate of WADA, USADA, drug controls, random controls, out of
competition controls. I have donated money to the UCI over the years to
    increase [drug controls].

"I have nothing personal against [censored] Pound at all, and I respect WADA.
If they went away, I would be one really upset guy. But I think WADA
needs to instill confidence in the athletes. Athletes need to be
confident that WADA's programs are run by equal and fair and
    straightforward people.

Sounds like stormtroopers will be arriving any day, this should instill
confidence and ensure a clean sport.

Just woke up from a crack induced coma eh? Prohormones have been banned and

It woul be so [censored] nice to see people actually have some solid verifiable

While getting a nice 70 miler with 5,500 ft of climbing in today, my cycling
buddy suggested that the Tour/UCI should require that all Tour team leaders
ride a specific number of races from a list during the 3 months leading to
the Tour. During those three months, they would undergo daily urine and
weekly blood profiles. During the Tour, no team or rider would be allowed
to employ or obtain the services of a physician other than one assigned to
each team by the Tour organization in the event of a medical need. No
supplements, other than vitamins would be allowed. No intravenous drips of
saline (or anything) would be allowed. Team leaders would be subject to
daily urine testing and blood profiling at least once a week, plus at the
start of the race. My friend also suggested sequestering teams at their
hotels. While that would be desirable, it may be impractical. Anyone not
agreeing, need not ride the Tour.

He got the idea for this from Henri Desgrange who at one time made all the
Tour riders eat the same food and use the same machines. I think the idea
    has some charm to it.

No sports will ever be "clean of drugs". Don't think for an instant that Pound
really believes his "task statement", which he "wrote" for himself, anyway.
Pound is a money and power man. He is selling "clean sports" to advertisers:

    http://www.nsb.com/speakerbio.asp?i_speakerid=358

A "skilled negotiator", Pound has managed to put himself into what seems at a
glance to be a morally superior position inre athletes gaining (or trying to
gain) an edge by using banned substances. The breakdown here is similar to that
with the "War on Drugs": the human cost is high, while lots of people still "do
drugs"-- IOW, the human cost has been and is being paid in vain.

As with most things, "follow the money" to find real motivation.

To state the painfully obvious, the writer above has some extremely serious

Frankly, I'm amused by the image of the stereotypical Critical Mass rider
getting into bed with the likes of a big-bucks lawyer like Pound. I think we're
seeing a fairly extreme lycra allergy reaction here. Perhaps the reason for
slagging Armstrong in a "race" ng, also? --Tom Paterson

I rode from Dailey City to Pacifica and then rode over an old mule track
that had later been a road and now is almost a mule track again that goes
around the backside of Devil's Slide area of Highway 1 south of San
Francisco. The guys I was with didn't want to climb back up over that broken
road on road bikes so we returned over Highway 1 past Devil's Slide. I spent
four or five miles in a cold sweat as cars passed within inches of me since
there're no shoulders along that section and the road is only a narrow two
    lanes with continuous traffic.

Going over the top and starting down towards Pacifica again I got up to
about 30 and cars weren't passing. Finally I looked back and there was a 3/4
pickup just cruising back there at a good distance with cars lined up behind
him. Down the hill for about a mile or so and I got to a place where I could
pull over and let them by. The guy waved as he went by.

Every once in awhile I like cars.

  9. And then Kloden would load up on drugs and win the race

There had to have been something in the air yesterday. The level of stupidity
was off the scale. The race goes uphill from the start about 1 mile, at the
half mile mark I had a car come blowing out around the field then try to cut
through the field to make the right turn we were. So here's me staying between
the field and the car, blowing the horn, making sure that if the idiot did turn
right she'd have to hit me first. We got to the turn and a marshall saw what
was going on and came out so that the field and I could go right inside him,
    and he held the car.
That was just the first incident in a LONG day. End result none of my people
crashed and the race worked out pretty much the way it would've without the
    cars.

Yeah! And you could require all the riders to only take the same number of
pedal strokes or have the same pressure in their tires. They could all have
the same sponsor's name on their jerseys and they could all get haircuts
    from the same barber.
