  1. I'm just wondering how those of you with a non wireless powertap have managed to keep the wires as discreet as possible. Have you used only tie wraps? I presume most fitted the main wire up the chainstay and across the top tube? I can't find any pictures of bikes fitted with powertap. Any advice welcome.🙂

Paddle/sharkfin ziptied on top of the chainstay, run the wire under the chainstay, under the BB, up the bottom of the top tube. For fasteners I have zip ties on the paddle/fin, a single ziptie where the wire hits the chainstay for the first time, then I cover the entire wire with plastic tape under the chainstay and downtube. You can get plastic tape in colors so it matches frame color at different points. Then two more zipties, one to fix it to the cable housing (brake or shifter, whichever routes cleaner) coming off the downtube, and one up as it comes off the housing and to the bars/stem where the CPU mount is.

Looks really clean, IMO. Been doing it this way for at least 3 years. The pics Jesse posted look nice, but I suspect they're still mounting it on the seatstay to make everything more visible. With my setup, you can't tell at first glance it's on there.

  4. So i dont have to start a new thread, but I bought my PT used and the CPU mount is set-up for handlbear mount, not stem. I cannot seem to remove the cradle frorm the mount to turn it 90º. I dont want to force it and risk breaking as I am addicted to the PT data now. I dont have the budget right now to buy a new mount either so that options out.

Any tips for demounting it? I really want to move it form the handlebar to the stem.

Thats a question i was going to ask, their doesn't seem to anything to press to release it.

Cheers. What about the cadence cable i presume the downtube route? Although i may not bother with it.

There is a piece of sticky paper on the bottom of the mount. Lift that paper and then pry the plastic up with a small screw driver and they will pop apart. - TF

Ah-thank you!! and sorry about hijacking the thread.

When i get my PT reinstalled, I'll snap a pic. My pick-up is on chianstay so its a little easier to hide the wires.

  9. Slip a very thin knife blade under the mount where it attaches to the cradle. You're going to have to un-latch the plastic stop to slide it out. Look at one un-clipped or the diagrams which come with the mount to see the parts.

I've never used it, but yeah I'd route it down there as well.
