Powertap Pro - Anyone Using It?

I've been using one for quite a while now, as i was beta testing them with no problems. The seals are much, much improved over the original Etune unit. The actual hub is no different for the standard or Pro model (it's the CPU and real cadence monitor that's different).

I have no idea on the weather of the Pacific northwest, but mine has been fine in the heaviest of Welsh rain (where it can rain very heavily - at least by UK standards).

another quick question - any recommendations for a decent aero rim to build up a powertap on that I can use in training and racing?

I'd either lace the hub to a carbon aero rim (especially if your roads are good and the weather is nice) or to an aero aluminium rim (which is what i've done). If you get a 30 or 40mm deep rim, then that should be pretty good. I use a 30-mm Mavic rim, laced 24 spoke to the PT, which i use all year round and for racing too.

I believe Velocity rims are very good too (but unfortunately, you can't get them in the UK!🙁 )

I have also had good results from the PT Pro. It does give out occasionally in the rain but it seems to be more a function of water getting in the contact at the cpu versus in the hub.

I have also been very happy with my Bontrager Race Lites with PT. They are essentially Rolf Vector Pros remade into the Bontrager name. Not the most aero wheel but a good blend of aero, durability, and performance.
