Anyone here have any problems with their powertap computer coming off during rides? For the last few weeks my powertap goes flying anytime I hit bad pavement. This weekend, on a patch of rough pavement going downhill, my computer fell off while doing 40mph - bounced and drilled me in the knee 😠 The computer is pretty much dead, the read out has lost most of it's pixels (?). I ordered a new computer and mount. I don't know if the harness was worn out or the computer itself - but it was pretty sloppy when seated in the mount.

Is this a unique problem?
I have mounts on two road bikes, a cross bike, and a mtb. I ride the road bikes on fire roads and have never had a problem the the CPU coming out except during racing off road on the cross or mtb. When I race off road I use electrical tape around the cpu and stem to hold the sucker on there. I weigh about 70 kilos.

Mine fits in the cradle so tight that I'm always cursing that they didn't put some kind of release into the thing so I could get it out. It's never come out on its own.
Look and see if the little tab on the cradle is broke or worn, you should hear a click when it's in. mine is hard to release, there is no way it will fly off no matter how bumpy of road.

Ditto... I'm careful to not rip the zipties from the stem, even.

Only problem I had was the crable broke on my first race (vibration). Left the CPU dangling from a cable. Otherwise I also sometimes struggle to get the CPU off the cradle - keep worrying I am going to break something.
Thanks for all the replies. I'm pretty sure it was the cradle that is worn out. The tab is still there, but it looks really rounded off. When I put the computer in the download cradle it snaps in really tight, so it's got to be a worn out cradle.
