adjusts in 5 or 10 lb increments.
How do I do the 5lb increments...anyone know?
I have the 5-50, but I believe the 5-90 set is configured as follows:
The handle weighs 5 pounds, the eight plates each weigh 10, and there
are two 2.5-pound chrome , but has all eight plates. You can actually
go in 2.5-pound increments, but because the plates are 10 pounds and you
can only use two weights, you can't achieve the the "plate + 7.5-pound"
weight.
When you pull out the handle alone, without any plates, you can flip the
closed/open switch to "open". Look at the top end of the handle; you'll
see that the switch opens a little black curved "gate" that prevents the
cylinders from sliding out. Remove both to drop 5 pounds, remove the
outer one to drop 2.5. (Be sure to close it again.)
Honestly, after having these for less than 24 hours, I find it's too
much of a pain to keep taking the handle out of the set, remove the
cylinders, and lock the handle back in if I'm trying to do a drop-set.
I'm considering the platemate donut magnets instead
